Mohabbat Karna Mana Hai

It is a story of two individuals in love who are trapped in the clutches of animosity and traditions.

Ibad (Adeel Chaudhry) is the only son in his family, while Neelam (Noor Khan) has a brother played by Arsalan Butt.

Neelam belongs to a very traditional family and is accountable for every action in front of her strict father Shadaab (Adnan Siddiqui.)

Amidst this, Neelam gets engulfed in Ibad’s passionate love for her. She keeps reminding herself that she is forbidden to fall in love.

Ibad’s family is the same.

Love is now considered a bad omen in Shadab’s family due as Neelum’s aunt Sophiya (Natasha Ali) had gone through a same love story which created differences between Shadab and Dilawar’s families.

Ibad’s widowed paternal aunt, Batool (Samiya Mumtaz,) who resides with them, is against everything that Ibad does.

In between this hatred, the two protagonists, who have fallen in love with each other, elope and get married.

From here the story takes new twists and turns. Ibad and Neelam are in a situation where they cannot live apart yet cannot live together.

This character-based drama addresses many social and emotional issues. How far can a mother go to support her child’s education and good life? How much can a brother do for his sister? How a father distances himself from his family due to social pressures? All this and more will be shown in Mohabbat Karna Mana Hai.

Along with Adeel Chaudhry and Noor Khan, viewers can see Adnan Siddiqui in a new light.

Samiya Mumtaz portrays the negative role of a peer sahiba, who considers love, a demon. She knows very well how to exorcise love out of anyone.

Besides Mahjabeen Habib, Natasha Ali, Sadaf Ashan and Arsalan Butt, this drama will showcase the promising talents of many artists. The drama is scripted by Adeel raza and directed by Furqan T. Siddiqui who has a previous success on his credit ‘Sawaab’ with Noorul Huda Shah on Hum.

The renowned Noor ul Huda Shah is the project head of Mohabbat Karna Mana Hai while President of BOL Entertainment, Nabeel Zafar, has played a vital role in the completion of this serial. The OST has been written by Bollywood lyricist Gulzar, performed by the celebrated Pakistani folk and Sufi singer, Abida Parveen and composed by her son, Sarang.

GLOSS spoke with the director Furqan T. Siddiqui about the drama, who said “MKMH is very close to my heart as this is another venture with my favourite Noorul Huda Shah and also for my friend and President Bol Entertainment Nabeel Zafar. Both have given me full support for the project. A beautiful story filmed in the northern areas with a lovely OST by Abida Parveen and lyrics by Gulzar will soon be on the new screen of BOL”
